Commemorative Mass to Honor the Lives Lost to COVID-19

Bishop Mark J. Seitz, D.D. will preside at a memorial Mass to honor the more than 3,000 lives that have been lost to COVID-19 in El Paso County on Sunday, January 30th, at 11:00 a.m. from St. Patrick Cathedral. The Mass that will also be simulcast on the CW channel 7.2.

The County Judge, Ricardo Samaniego and the Mayor of El Paso, Oscar Lesser and other city officials, along with the public, have been invited to pray with the faithful community of El Paso. The Mass also serves to honor those departed who may have not yet had a chance to have a funeral.

“We felt that it would be a good moment to gather as a faith community and commemorate those we and so many of our families have lost. So many people that were part of the fabric of our community and their families,” said Bishop Mark Seitz.

The Memorial Mass will also be live-streamed on the Diocese of El Paso Facebook Page and the diocesan website at the same time that it is simulcast on the CW.
