Title: Receptionist FLSA: Non-exempt
Job Summary: The Receptionist welcomes and greets people who come into or
call the Diocese of El Paso.
Supervisor: Director of Human Resources
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Welcomes and greets people who come to the Diocese of El Paso.
2.Answers phones, answers callers questions or refers them to appropriate person, and/ or takes messages,
3.On occasion will need to cover the Mail Room.
a.Receives incoming mail from the U.S. Post Office and delivers it within the Pastoral Center.
b.Picks up outgoing mail from individual ministries, processes the mail with the proper postage, and delivers the mail at the local U.S. Post Office.
c.Picks up and delivers inter office mail within the Pastoral Center.
4.Assist the Director of Human Resources and/or the Administrative Assistant of HR with mailings, filing, making copies, creating communications or other duties as assigned.
5.Participates in staff retreats and continuing education.
1.Must have ability to communicate verbally in English and in Spanish.
2.Must have ability to communicate in writing and read both in English and Spanish.
3.Must have good interpersonal communications skills.
4.Must have experience in working with the general public.
5.Must have experience in operating a switchboard.
6.Must be computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office.
7.Must be familiar with teachings of the Catholic Church.
8.High School Diploma or Equivalent.
9.Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters.
1.Schedule of hours, Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, with a one hour lunch break.
2.On occasion may be asked to work hours other than those listed above.
3.Prior supervisor approval required on schedule changes.
