 Around 1954 there was discussion of the establishment of a new parish in northeast El Paso, which was to be a mission of St. Joseph's parish. Msgr. Buchanan assigned Fr. Gerald McDonald to begin the Mission. There was a need for a Catholic School in the area. Four classrooms were built and Mass was celebrated in the new school in 1955 and thus Blessed Sacrament parish became a reality. Originally there were close to the 400 families and now there are 2000 families. |
