Foundation Announces Opening of Stewardship Office
The Foundation for the Diocese of El Paso is pleased to announce the opening of the Stewardship Office, a ministry that will assist parishes to promote the practice of Stewardship – returning a portion of one’s time, talent, and treasure back to God in gratitude for the gifts He has given us.
During this past summer, the office was set on a mission to interview more than 30 pastors throughout the diocese including those in El Paso and rural West Texas, in regard to their pastoral ministry, spirituality and financial status. Using these results, the Stewardship Office will explore ways to help our pastors and parishioners to create and sustain a vibrant stewardship parish. This outreach will include training, communications and resources for parishes in need of more ministries, spiritual enrichment, and fundraising tools.
The Office will be ministered by Karina Sandoval who joined the Foundation team in July 2016 as Stewardship Coordinator. Karina began her pastoral journey with the Diocese of El Paso as the Reverence for Life Coordinator in 2012. Later she was chosen for the Young Adult Lay Leadership Program of the Catholic Church Extension Society. Through this initiative, Karina worked in the Religious Formation Office, developing a post-Confirmation program for parishes in El Paso while completing her Master’s degree in Pastoral Ministry from Boston College's School of Theology and Ministry.
