Pope Francis could visit a prison and celebrate Mass in the Chamizal park in Juárez, according to a preliminary schedule of the pontiff's visit to the border city next year.
Francis is scheduled to visit Juárez on Feb. 17 as part of his first trip to Mexico, stated a preliminary schedule posted on a Web page dedicated to the pope's visit on the website of the Diocese of Juárez.
According to the preliminary plan, Francis would arrived at the Juárez airport on the morning of Feb. 17. The pope would go to the Cereso prison to greet a group of about 20 inmates in the prison yard and meet with prison staff in the prison chapel, according to the plan.
