The Diocese of El Paso is building a bridge...yes The Bridge also known as El Puente. It has been six months since we began building The Bridge/ El Puente 1150am and it has been a labor of love for The Diocese and my team. El Paso finally has its very own Catholic radio station. We have been working very hard to get the word out and get people tuned in, so if you have not checked us out yet then please listen up.
You can find The Bridge on your trusty AM dial at 1150 am. We are also online if you wish to stream us, just go to www.elpasodiocese.org and click the Listen Live button. And soon, very soon you will be able to stream us on your phone via app! Later this summer we are launching a way for you to tune us in via your cell phone right along every other programming and news you consume...yay!
We have bumper stickers that are easy on your car and quite good looking. Maybe you can remember at mass in May where you saw our support teams in black “The Bridge” t-shirts passing out Bridge stickers so you can show your support. If you missed it, do not fret just let us know you want one and we can send one out just for you.
Follow what is happening on the The Bridge via Facebook @ Diocese of El Paso. We will soon be launching The Bridge T Shirt “Share to Win” facebook giveaway. So if you want one of the coolest shirts ever, be on the lookout for more Bridge Videos including the cutest video series ever, Bridge Kids, showing our El Paso Catholic school students reminding us to listen, learn and live our Catholic faith.
I hope you tuned in to some of our LIVE broadcasts over the radio like the St.Patrick’s Centennial Celebration mass or the live in person address by Archbishop Christophe Pierre, Apostolic Nuncio to the United States of America at The Pro Life Pro Family Binational Congress event or maybe you caught the most recent Ordination of Father Cong Vo. Remember The Bridge/ El Puente 1150am when you cannot attend these important events because you can always catch the broadcast LIVE on The Bridge 1150 am.
Make sure you tune in to only the best EWTN/ Ave Maria shows. Tune in every weekday morning at 8am for More2Life with Catholic counselors Greg and Lisa Popcak taking live calls and offering some of the most creative advice regarding all types of challenges faced in marriage, family, parenting and more. And do not forget to tune in daily at 2pm to one of the most notable Protestant converts Al Kresta with his popular Kresta in the Afternoon. Al Kresta looks at all areas of life through the lens of Scripture and the teaching of the Catholic Church. Over the years, Al Kresta has engaged in vigorous discussions with nationally known figures from politics, the arts, the Church, academia and business such as Mother Angelica, Jesse Jackson, John McCain, Gloria Steinem, Scott Hahn, Rick Santorum, Jerry Falwell, Pat Buchanan, Jack Kevorkian, John Cardinal O’Connor, Chuck Colson, Archbishop Charles Chaput, George McGovern, C. Everett Koop, Francis Cardinal George, Tim Russert, Newt Gingrich, Mike Huckabee, Garrison Keillor, Dion DiMucci, Colin Raye and many more. The drive home is much better now with The Bridge 1150am and everyone’s favorite afternoon drive show, Catholic Answers. This afternoon radio show
with their Open Forum format lets the callers choose the topics for their guests with questions on every aspect of Catholic life and faith, the moral life and even philosophical topics that touch on general religious belief.
The Bridge’s must listen radio line up is all about our local programs including Bishop Mark Seitz’s InSeitz Into The Faith on air every Wednesday at 10am. Where else can you reach out and talk directly to Bishop Seitz regarding some of the most interesting topics in our Church today? Also on Wednesdays we have Amor Al Migrante at 10:30a with Attorney, Melissa Lopez from Diocesan Migrant and Refugee Services addressing all your immigration topics and questions. I am honored to be a part of this great team and my hats off to our Radio Program Director, Joe (Jojo) Garcia who single handedly got us up and running and never ceases to amaze me with his expertise and knowhow for radio.
We got this Gospel party started for El Paso Catholics so tune in and enjoy the glory and praise we broadcast on air every day, all day.
