It is based on the belief that action for justice is a constitutive dimension of Christian life and spirituality. It serves as a catalyst and ongoing resource to parishes in order to develop and maintain parish efforts which link direct service, advocacy, action and empowerment toward concerns of local, national and global justice. The Peace and Justice Ministry collaborates with the United States Council of Bishops, the Texas Conference for Criminal Justice, the Texas Coalition Against the Death Penalty and other Ministries of the Diocese as well as local and national civic organizations and interfaith groups in its promotion of justice, peace and the common good.
